David & Taibryn
We know it takes a village to raise a child, but sometimes it also takes a village to ensure your wedding is photographed the way it deserves to be! With this sweet wedding, my record for shortest advance notice for wedding photography shrank down considerably to a whopping 30 minutes!! When I got the phone call with the news that David & Taibryn had bumped up their wedding day by 2 months (with a big celebration still happening in August!), I happened to currently be in Jasper about to photograph a wedding there as an associate photographer! So I am SO grateful for my amazing friend Kayla of Kayla Lynn Photography who immediately said “YES!” when I asked her with almost no notice if there was any way she could capture this Grande Prairie wedding on my behalf!! It is so reassuring to have a friend who photographs with the exact same style that I do so we can cover for each other without stressing about it!
Something that really struck me about David & Taibryn’s mini wedding was how willing they were to set aside all the “extras” we so often obsess over for a wedding day and just focus in on the most important element: Actually getting married! It’s so easy to get so caught up in everything else that we forget how simple that part really can be, but David & Taibryn really embraced that reality!
I’ve had the privilege of knowing David and his family for many years through working together at summer camp, and it is so crazy and exciting to think that the teenager I knew has fully grown up and found his life partner! But I’m sure that Taibryn is a great fit for him and I am so glad they found each other!
David & Taibryn, congratulations on finding your person and making this lifelong commitment to each other!! I am so glad we were able to capture this amazing time in your lives and I can’t wait to photograph your big celebration in August! May God bless you both richly on this new adventure!!
Enjoy a few highlights from your wedding day!
