Imler Family
Not every family is able or happy to brave winter weather and trample through snow for their pictures, but these guys embraced it all with a smile! The Imlers were so much fun to photograph and their laughter is highly contagious!!
When we arrived at our location and I mentioned that I would love to have some frost in the background, Christie immediately knew where we needed to go! As soon as we had trekked through to a back area that had been shaded throughout the entire day so almost NONE of the frost had melted off the trees, I knew we were in for an amazing time together!! It’s not often that the session day you’ve planned weeks in advance also happens to be a warm winter day with amazing frost!
Photographs inevitably reflect the emotions of the people in the picture, so I think it’s easy to see that their entire family radiates cheerful and bright personalities! I love getting to see each family member shine in their own way as they relate to each other throughout the session; it is such a special way to gain a glimpse into their lives and hearts. In some ways, our time together is over so fast (especially in winter when we’re trying not to freeze!), but I know that it cannot compare to how quickly the years fly by once kids start finishing high school and leaving home! I think that the fleeting nature of these stages is one of the main reasons these candid moments are so meaningful, and it is such a privilege to get to capture that.
Christie, Darren, & boys, it was so lovely to meet all of you and I hope you love your pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them! You are all troopers and I so appreciate your willingness to try seemingly random things and to embrace my ideas! Have a wonderful rest of your holiday season!!
