Rodrigo & Mallory
The first text Rodrigo ever sent Mallory was: “There’s only one thing I would change about you.” It was a bit of an interesting start, which most girls wouldn’t necessarily appreciate, until he followed up with: “Your last name!” Fast-forward to several years later, Rodrigo had the delight of telling Mallory the same pick-up line during their marriage vows!!
I had the privilege of playing on the same soccer team as Mal for several years, and so it was with great excitement that I agreed to be their wedding photographer!! Mal has always been such a fun & kind presence regardless of circumstance, and it was no different for her wedding day! The love she has for her family & friends is so evident, and I think you can see it shining through their images!
Their reception was filled with so much laughter and joy! For one of my favourite moments, Mallory & Rodrigo were up at the front, thanking their guests for coming to celebrate their marriage. Rodrigo held the mic, and happily admitted, “I used to lock myself out of the dorm just so Mal could come let me in! Sometimes it worked; sometimes I stood outside the door for a couple hours…” It was so enjoyable to hear more of their love story and how everything came together to bring them to their wedding day! There have been a lot of twists and turns throughout their relationship, not the least of which was planning and then completely re-planning a wedding, so it was wonderful to get to see them on the other side and enjoying their love for each other!
Rodrigo & Mal, I loved getting to spend your wedding day with you! You are such a wonderful couple and I am so excited for the two of you to take on the world together! I hope you always keep pursuing one another and using pick-up lines 😉 May God bless you richly as you embark on this new adventure!!
